Actress/singer-songwriter Abbey Lincoln [born Anna Marie Woolridge], 80, died in her Manhattan nursing home after suffering deteriorating health for the last few years following open heart surgery in 2007. An official cause of death has not been released. During the 1980s, the jazz vocalist recorded 4 albums (1980's Painted Lady [with Archie Shepp], 1980's Golden Lady, 1983's Talking To The Sun and 1987's Abbey Sings Billie, Vol. 1 & 2.)
