Carole King & James Taylor's Live At The Troubadour dropped a spot to #21 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Tom Petty's Mojo fell 8 places to #25.
Kylie Minogue's "All The Lovers" fell out of the top spot on the the Billboard Dance/Club Play Songs chart to #4.
Tom Jones' Praise & Blame fell 3 places to #5 on the U.K. Albums chart. Kylie Minogue's Aphrodite dropped 6 spots to #14. Earth, Wind & Fire's The Greatest Hits fell 3 places to #17. Glee Cast's Glee The Music: Season One Vol. 1 dropped 4 spots to #40.

Singer George Michael, 47, was accused on Thursday of cannabis possession and driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Michael is due in court in London on Aug. 24th.

The Posies plan to release their seventh studio album, Blood/Candy, on Sept. 28th via Rykodisc. The album's opening track, "Plastic Paperbacks," has a guest vocal by former Stranglers singer Hugh Cornwell.
Tracey Ullman's early recording career has been compiled into a double-CD set, Move Over Darling: The Complete Stiff Recordings, due out on Sept. 20th in the U.K. The 36-track collection will include her U.S. and U.K. hits ("Breakaway" and "They Don't Know") as well as a previously-unreleased track ("Little Red Riding Hood.")
Munich-based Yesterrock plan to release a digitally re-mastered version of Martin Briley's 1983 album, One Night With A Stranger, on Aug. 20th which contained his top 40 hit "Salt In My Tears."

Vocalist Jack Russell of Great White wasn't able to perform during Thursday night's concert in Redondo Beach, California due to a "medical emergency." XYZ's Terry Ilous stepped in last minute to split some of the lead vocals for the show with the other members.
Status Quo have announced that they have lyrically reworked their 1986 hit, "In The Army Now," into a new version due out in September which will raise funds for armed forces charities.

Former Smiths bassist Andy Rourke has reportedly left Freebass and will not be involved in the support of their debut album, It's A Beautiful Life, due out Sept. 20th. "Andy Rourke was initially involved in the conception of the group and contributed to the EP and a few tracks on the LP. He is now living in NYC and will not be joining the band for live dates." according to their website.
Exodus have debuted their new video for "Downfall" off their latest album, Exhibit B: The Human Condition, on YouTube. Viewers have been asked not to watch the video if they are prone to seizures as it contains a strobing effect.

Elvis Costello has announced that he will release his new studio album, National Ransom, on Nov. 2nd.
Ted Nugent has been fined $1,750 in Yuba County Superior Court for baiting deer during the filming of his show Spirit Of The Wild. Nugent entered a no contest plea to the charges by the Department of Fish and Game that he baited a deer and didn't have a deer tag countersigned at the closest possible location. Baiting deer isn't legal in California but is in some states.

The recently reunited Ratt plan to release their first-ever live CD with DVD titled Rattn' Live on Sept. 22nd via Roadrunner Records in Japan.
Kiss, Rush, Johnny Cash, Styx, Nirvana, Motorhead, The Temptations and Don Williams are among the artists to be spotlighted in Universal Music Enterprises new retrospective collections in the Icon series launching Aug. 31st. Several will be 12 tracks while some others will be 24-track double-CD sets.
The Buggles have announced a one-time reunion to benefit London's Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability to take place in London on Sept. 28th. Trevor Horn has said, "No tour is planned, no DVD or live CD will be released."
Producer Mark Ronson is working on his third album, Record Collection, due out Oct. 5th (and Sept. 28th in the U.K.) The album features more than 30 collaborators including Boy George, Q-Tip and Duran Duran's Nick Rhodes and Simon Le Bon.
Johnny Marr has penned the theme song for the new U.K. sitcom, The Increasingly Poor Decisions Of Todd Margaret.
Jaime St. James and Pete Holmes of Black N' Blue, Juan Croucier formerly of Ratt and Jon E. Love of Love/Hate have formed a new group called The HardRock AllStars.
During an interview with Marko Syrjala of Metal Rules, bassist David Ellefson of Megadeth and talked about their next album. "We do have some riffs; we've got some ideas. And it's cool because there are sections of stuff we started recording at the sound checks, just little bits of ideas -- which is usually where some of the best songs come from."
Gregg Allman's son Devon has been working on a sophomore album with his band, Honeytribe, entitled Space Age Blues. The album is due out Oct. 12th and includes a guest appearance by Huey Lewis.
Jane's Addiction will release their first live Blu-ray and DVD, Live Voodoo, on Aug. 31st via Eagle Rock. The Halloween night performance last year at the Voodoo Experience in New Orleans featured the original line-up of the band (and some bonus footage from some 2008 shows in Los Angeles.)
Bassist/singer-songwriter Roger Waters of Pink Floyd has given Canadian band Blurred Vision permission to re-write the lyrics to the band's hit, "Another Brick In The Wall, Part 2," in an effort to create an anthem for young Iranians.
Former Venom members Jeff Dunn, Anthony Lant and Tony Dolan have created a new metal band called Prime Evil. They are currently working on their debut album due out in the spring.
Black Sabbath/Heaven And Hell guitarist Tony Iommi has released a statement via his website. "Sadly, my red Custom Shop Iommi SG was stolen at the tribute show Heaven And Hell performed at High Voltage on July 24th [in tribute to the late Ronnie James Dio]. If you have any information or leads please let us know, we are offering a reward." That guitar has been his signature instrument since his early days with Black Sabbath.
Kiss founder Gene Simmons recently talked to Weekender.com and said that the band will be recording a cover of Paul McCartney & Wings' "Venus And Mars/Rockshow" for an upcoming McCartney tribute album.
A 20th anniversary of the Levellers debut album, A Weapon Called The Word, will be reissued by the band's own On The Fiddle label on Oct. 11th in a re-mastered version with 4 previously-unreleased tracks.
Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark release their new single, "If You Want It," on Sept. 6th. The song is the first off their reunion album, History Of Modern. A video for the single is available for a limited time at DailyMotion.

Martha And The Muffins have recorded a new 30th anniversary version of their classic hit, "Echo Beach," and have paired it with a new song called "Big Day." Parliament-Funkadelic and James Brown guitarist Phelps "Catfish" Collins, 66, lost his long battle with cancer on Friday. During the 80s, Phelps continued to play with Parliament-Funkadelic until 1983 and would record on albums by Brown and his younger brother Bootsy.
Little Feat drummer Richie Hayward, 64, lost his battle with liver cancer, dying from complications on Aug. 12th. He had been diagnosed with the disease about a year ago with Gabe Ford filling in for the band in his absence. Hayward had been with Little Feat since 1969 and released many albums (including 1988's Let It Roll.) He was also a a much in-demand studio musician that worked on albums with Kim Carnes, Nils Lofgren, The Honeydrippers, Robert Plant, Tom Waits and Warren Zevon. Hayward lived in Canada, although native to the U.S., but did not have health insurance. A benefit concert was organized, a benefit recording was created and a website was set up to allow fans to attend the show as well as donate towards his treatment costs.
