According to TMZ, Marky Ramone has filed a lawsuit in New York Supreme Court against the people behind his royalties agreement. As drummer of the Ramones for the band's final 15 years, he signed a new royalties deal in 2005 but 3 years later royalty payments ceased. He claims the company in charge of the group's royalties management ignored the contract and took their money. Ramone is asking for $1 million in punitive damages and $175,000 in back royalties he's allegedly owed.
Halford's new single, "The Mower," can now be purchased at HalfordMusic.com. The song comes from the new album, Halford IV: Made Of Metal, due out in October.

Former Toto/Le Roux vocalist Fergie Frederiksen has been diagnosed with inoperable cancer. Several friends are gathering for a benefit concert to be held on July 18th in Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota. Former Santana vocalist Alex Ligertwood and former Survivor singer Jimi Jamison will perform at the concert with all proceeds going to the Fergie Frederiksen Family Fund. Frederiksen is a father of two.
Top Fuel Records have announced that they will release a Rat Bastards compilation, Battering Ramm, with 3 new songs at www.topfuelrecords.com. The band was Ratt vocalist Stephen Pearcy's solo touring band with Erik Ferentinos.
Bauhaus' Peter Murphy will make his first return to the big screen in 27 years this month portraying The Cold One in Eclipse (the third installment of the Twilight series.) His last film appearance was in the 1983 film The Hunger... also a vampire flick. Meanwhile, Murphy is putting the finishing touches on his new studio album, Ninth, due out this fall.
According to his recent interview with That Hair Metal Blog, former Warrant vocalist Jani Lane has been working on a song for Alice Cooper's next album. (He had a few songs on Cooper's previous release.) Lane has also finished writing all the material for his next album which he hopes to record this fall.

According to RadarOnline.com, former Great White drummer Gary Holland has retained legal council over claims that he is still a 20% shareholder in the band and never gave up his 100 shares of Great White Productions (despite the band offering $100 for it after he was kicked out of the group.) He also alleges that he had a co-write on every song they worked on for those first 4 years and has never been paid.
Allman Brothers Band's Gregg Allman, 62, underwent a liver transplant surgery on June 23rd. Allman had been diagnosed with Hepatitis C in 2007 and has been fighting the disease ever since. The surgery has forced the band to suspend their tour and updates will be posted at his www.greggallman.com site.
Weird Al Yankovic is reportedly 9 songs into his next album with 3 more to go. He's currently on tour but expects to release it at the end of the year or early next year. He's been considering a Lady Gaga parody but hasn't revealed much about the album other than that it includes some of the music on his Internet Leaks EP. Meanwhile, he's also written a children's book, "When I Grow Up," due out in March.
Science fiction network Syfy plans to settle the Debbie Gibson and Tiffany 'rivalry' once and for all in the upcoming original movie, Mega Python vs. Gatoroid. Gibson will portray a fanatical animal-rights activist who frees illegally imported exotic snakes from pet stores and releases them into the Everglades... where they become gigantic. Tiffany will play an overzealous park ranger who uses dangerous methods to save endangered alligators. The two reportedly fight it out at a party in the film. Both have been in previous Syfy original films but never together.
Michael Jackson fans will be seeing many tributes paid to the 'King Of Pop' during the first anniversary of his passing on Friday. Celebrations of his life are expected to last all weekend worldwide including a Forever Michael fan event on Friday in Los Angeles supported by his mother Katherine Jackson.
