For those of you who remember our interview with Vince Neil awhile back, here's a small update. Seems like Tommy Lee was sentenced sooner than they expected and were only able to finish work on two new tracks "Bitter Pill" and "Slave." These 2 songs are among 18 to be included on the new Motley Crue greatest hits package (titled Bitter Pills) to be released in October. They plan to tour to support the release as soon as Tommy gets out. During this off time, bassist Nikki Sixx is working on a film score and finishing up an album with his side-project 1958.
'Girl Next Door' no more. Rumor abounds that Tiffany will appear in the June (or July) issue of Playgirl (clothed) as their 'Who's That Playgirl?' - which will include a full page photo and short interview. Tiffany also judged the Los Angeles 25th Anniversary Man Search for Playgirl in February 1998. Michael Lloyd has been announced as the producer for the new Tiffany album. The style will be adult-contemporary, rather than country as other Tiffany reports over the last couple of years have suggested. Lloyd produced hits which include "I've Had The Time Of My Life" for Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes also "She's Like The Wind" by Patrick Swayze among others.
Bauhaus sold out all 7,000 seats for the band's two reunion shows at the Palladium in Hollywood scheduled for July 10th, 11th and added another on the 12th. The band sold-out the two Palladium dates in record time...faster than any band had since Jane's Addiction in 1990.
R.E.M. will have their first live gig without founding member, Bill Berry, during the Tibetan Freedom Concert in Washington, D.C. on June 13th. Joey Waronker, Beck's drummer, has been tapped to play with Screaming Trees drummer Barrett Martin (who plays on R.E.M.'s upcoming album) will handle extra percussion at the show. Waronker's camp also says he's been booked to play on R.E.M.'s fall promotional tour but R.E.M.'s reps won't confirm that yet.
