Grammy Award-winning and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee singer-songwriter Solomon Burke, 60, died on Oct. 10th at Amersterdam Schiphol Airport while on a plane that had just landed from Los Angeles. Burke was flying in to perform with De Dijk in Amsterdam a few days later (who he worked with on his new album, Hold On Tight, released earlier this year.) A cause of death has not been announced but the family has said that it was from natural causes. Burke has been a fixture on the U.S. Pop and R&B charts since 1961 -- scoring a #1 on the R&B chart in 1965 with "Got To Get You Off My Mind." He released 6 albums just during the 1980s and you might remember his song "Cry To Me" which appeared on the Dirty Dancing soundtrack.
