Grammy Award-winning gospel vocalist, composer and pastor Walter Hawkins, 61, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday at his Ripon, California home. During the 1980s, he released 4 albums and earning 9 Grammy Award nominations. He is best known for his Love Alive albums which numbered 5 by 1998 and he had plans to record a new one this fall.
