It seems that Jeff Beck was the most mentioned name coming up for the Grammy nomination committee.  Nominations for the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards were announced on Wednesday.  Jeff Beck's Emotion & Commotion, Pearl Jam's Backspacer, Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers' Mojo and Neil Young's Le Noise were nominated for Best Rock Album.  Neil Young's "Angry World" was nominated for Best Rock Song.  Jeff Beck's "Hammerhead," Los Lobos' "Do The Murray" and Dweezil Zappa's "The Deathless Horsie" are up for Best Instrumental Performance.  Jeff Beck & Joss Stone's "I Put A Spell On You" is up for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals.  Eric Clapton's "Run Back To Your Side," Paul McCartney's "Helter Skelter," Robert Plant's "Silver Rider" and Neil Young "Angry World" are up for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance.  Ozzy Osbourne's "Let Me Hear You Scream," Soundgarden's "Black Rain," Them Crooked Vultures' "New Fang" and Alice In Chains' "A Looking In View" are up for Best Hard Rock Performance.  Iron Maiden's "El Dorado," Megadeth's "Sudden Death" and Slayer's "World Painted Blood" are up for Best Metal Performance.  Rosanne Cash's The List, Los Lobos' Tin Can Trust, Willie Nelson's Country Music, Robert Plant's Band Of Joy and Mavis Staples' You Are Not Alone are up for Best Americana Album.  Herbie Hancock, Pink, India.Arie, Seal, Konono No 1, Jeff Beck and Oumou Sangare's "Imagine" and Elton John & Leon Russell's "If It Wasn't For Bad" are up for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals.  Jeff Beck's "Nessun Dorma," Laurie Anderson's "Flow," Stanley Clarke's "No Mystery" and Brian Setzer Orchestra's "Sleepwalk" are up for Best Pop Instrumental Performance.  The awards ceremony will take place on Feb. 13th in Los Angeles and air on CBS.
