Country star Jimmy Dean, 81, died in his Henrico County, Virginia home on Sunday. His wife told the Associated Press that, despite some health problems, he was doing well which made his passing that much more of a shock. She had just left the room where Dean was eating in front of the television and upon returning found him unresponsive. He scored his first top 10 country hit in 1952 and went on to score 2 #1's and release 32 studio albums. His last hit single was a re-recording of "I.O.U." in 1983. Dean was also known as an entrepreneur for launching Jimmy Dean Meat Co. in 1969 which he sold to Sara Lee Corp. in 1984.
